NEW PIPE UNDER A HIGHWAY

new pipe being installed under the highway      Exit pit for the new pipe

When Mountain Construction needed to replace a four inch pipe with a 6 inch pipe across busy five lane road, Pipe guys came up with the solution. Using a process we call “pipebursting” we literally pulled a new pipe through the old pipe while expanding and crushing the original pipe, leaving it in the ground. Only one lane of traffic had to be merged into another lane, so commuters were only slightly inconvenienced. The pipe was ready for connecting in only eight hours and saved Mountain Construction almost half of the closest bid. The pipe was “fused”together before installation, so the entire 85 foot pipe was inserted as one piece with no joints at all. Using small pits at either connection was the only excavation required and trenching was not required.

PIPE RESTORATION AT HILTON'S HOTEL SEATTLE TACOMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Hilton Hotel Seatle Tacoma airport

New liner curing inside Hilton's filtration room The same pipe viewed from a pit outside the building

When the Hilton Hotel at the Seattle Tacoma International airport found out they were leaking thousands of gallons of water from the pool, they knew it was a serious problem. Pipe Guys was initially consulted to see if we could bore two new 4 inch diameter pipes from the outdoor pool area to the filtration room located in the basement. We presented an option that would not only cost less, but would be less mess and take much less time. The cracked pipes were restored in a day and a half through a process called epoxy lining. No drilling through the concrete wall, no tunneling under one of the main corridors of the hotel, very little noise, no disruption to guests.

HOME WATER LINE REPLACEMENT UNDER 12 FT WALL

Water Line repairs Boring method used!

When the owners of this view home had a water leak, they knew it was a real problem. Not only were they 12 feet above the water meter, but they were 60 feet behind the retaining wall and a 10 foot deck covered part of that area. We used a boring method here, steering the drill right under the house. A new water line was installed in about a day and a half. The other option? Tear down the retaining wall or tear up the driveway and trench twice the distance.
